MAKE A SHARK THAT ROCKS!

A brand new Golden Thread Gallery online workshop for kids!

We’re celebrating Shark Week with this new workshop. Gallery Assistant Katharine Paisley shows you how to create your own paper Shark, teeth and all!

Did you know that there are over 500 species of shark? They range from tiny in size, like the dwarf lantern shark which is about the size of a human hand, to the largest Whale Shark which can be up to 12 metres long… That’s the same length as three family cars put together!

Sadly, many types of shark are now endangered. Helping to look after our oceans by cutting waste and pollution is one way to help save them!

As always, we hope you can use materials you already have at home to make your artwork – like cereal boxes or packaging – and with your imagination and creativity make something new from something that might otherwise have been thrown away. We can all help our planet!
