EASTER BUNNY ONLINE WORKSHOP!

Hoppy Easter! To celebrate the Easter holidays, our Gallery Assistant Katharine has created two new Easter themed online workshops!

In this video, Katharine will show you how to recycle a toilet roll tube and scrap cardboard into a very cute Easter bunny!

Why are rabbits so linked with Easter? It’s an idea that goes back thousands of years, even before Easter was a Christian holiday! The name ‘Easter’ comes from Eostre, an ancient pagan goddess of Spring. Rabbits, eggs, flowers and cute baby animals like chicks were all symbols of the joyful rebirth of the year, after the long, cold winter had finally ended.

It’s only in recent centuries that rabbits got their side hustle of delivering chocolate eggs!
