Our wonderful GTG elves know that everyone wants their Christmas presents to look extra special this year. So they’ve created this fun workshop to show you how to make gift wrapping into an artform, using sustainable, planet-friendly materials!

Including a potato. Nothing says Christmas like a lovely spud.

What you will need:

  • A roll of brown wrapping paper, packaging paper or greaseproof paper
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • A large potato or potatoes if you wish to do multiple designs
  • A sponge
  • Cookie cutters (preferably Christmassy ones)
  • Paper plates
  • Kitchen Roll
  • Kitchen knife
  • Marker or pencil
  • Scissors

Instructions:

For the potato option:

  1. Cut your potato in half.
  2. Create a stamp design by using either a christmas cookie cutter or by drawing a christmas

design with marker on the potato and cutting out the side of the shape with a knife.

  1. Pour your choice of coloured paint onto a paper plate or palette dip in your potato stamp.
  2. Stamp your christmas design over the brown paper roll.
  3. Leave to dry.

For the Cookie Cutter:

  1. Pour your choice of coloured paint onto a paper plate or palette.
  2. Dip your cookie cutter into the paint.
  3. Print onto the brown paper roll.
  4. Leave to dry.

For the Calligraphy option:

  1. Pour your choice of paint onto a paper plate of palette.
  2. Using a paint brush, paint your choice of festive phrases.
  3. Leave to dry.

For the sponge option:

  1. Draw your christmas design onto your sponge using a marker.
  2. Use a pair of scissors or a craft knife to cut out your sponge design.
  3. Pour your choice of coloured paint onto a plate or palette.
  4. Dip your sponge stamper into your paint.
  5. Stamp onto your brown paper.
  6. Leave to dry.
