Welcome to the new season of GTG Curators! What began as a crucial face-time reaction to the global pandemic of Covid-19 has evolved into something we’re now very proud to continue. With fantastic questions and engagement sent in from our online audiences, we are now able to expand and adapt into a new series.
This new series will broaden our conversations out into the communities we’ve worked with over the past few years. We will be talking about the relationships we’ve built with other organisations and individuals across Northern Ireland and beyond. Special invited guests will be shedding light on their way of working and their experiences with GTG.
For our first episode our Deputy Director Sarah McAvera and Exhibitions Officer Mary Stevens are delighted to be joined by Amanda Croft, creator of ARTTALKS:ARTWALKS, a beloved art tours and lifelong learning fixture on the Northern Irish art scene.
Amanda is a specialist in twentieth century and contemporary Irish art who has worked as an art historian and lecturer for over thirty-five years and is a former Teaching Fellow and Head of the History of Art department at Queen’s University Belfast. Amanda also curates exhibitions, conducts gallery tours, writes critical reviews and was the Art Advisor for the UTV Art Collection – one of Ireland’s finest corporate collections of contemporary Northern Irish art.
