Radio Relay is a schedule of new artworks co-commissioned by 14-18 NOW, the UK’s arts programme for the First World War centenary, and Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast.
Inspired by Guglielmo Marconi’s early radio experiments, Gareth will join with artists Paddy Bloomer, Colm Clarke and the spirit of Marconi, at Giant’s Ring, in a valiant attempt to connect to past frequencies using silver balloons and fox-hole radios built at the workshops with schools and groups.

For the Great Art Quest we are planning to explore the techniques used by Sean Hillen and encourage the school children to use their own experiences to make their own photomontages and collages.
In January 2017, Graham Fagen’s audio installation – The Garden - will be presented in a new format as part of Dialogues along with moments captured from each of the six projects that made RADIO RELAY complete.
