In today’s exclusive interview for LOVEARTBUYART, GTG Director Peter Richards speaks to artist Lisa Malone about the work she chose for the exhibition, her inspirations and her creative practice. Malone was born in Co. Louth, Ireland, studied at the University of Ulster and lives and works in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Malone’s work is a gentle comment on human nature, suggestive rather than literal, and allows a multitude of readings. Malone uses print, sculpture, and kinetic elements, sometimes overlapping to create a final piece. The work presents alternate worlds, exploring the narratives between singular beings and the world at large, looking at structures, containment, people’s interactions with each other and the landscapes they have created for themselves. Visit the exhibition main page to explore her work.
