You’re in the Right Place
Golden Thread Gallery goes to the Shankill Road Library.

Life is busy and sometimes it can be hard to fit in a visit to an art gallery, so we are bringing a taste of what Golden Thread Gallery does to some of the libraries in Belfast.  The artworks on show in the libraries are the results of projects developed collaboratively with our community partners.

Galleries and libraries have a lot in common and are both creative places and shared spaces with a focus on people.  These spaces can be used for thinking, learning, socializing or having a quiet moment.  We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with Ardoyne, Chichester and Shankill Libraries as a way of making sure that you all know what is happening in your city.

On Thursday 28th November at 4pm, The Golden Thread Gallery will be launching the My Generation publication and showcasing the exhibition My Generation.

My Generation was an intergenerational arts project, with the North Belfast Senior Citizens Forum (NBSCF), Let Youth Lead (LYL), Ardoyne Shankill Health Partnership (ASHP) and Youth Education Help and Advice (YEHA).

The project involved bringing older people together with young people from North Belfast who worked with artists from the Golden Thread Gallery to swap clothes, attitudes, reminiscences and experiences. The result was both a publication and an exhibition that fused the experiences and skills of different generations together.

My Generation exhibition is showing at the Ardoyne Library, Chichester Library and Shankill Road Library.
