The Notice Day In This Factory Is Thursday
Featuring artists: Susan MacWilliam, Mary McIntyre, Moira McIver, Peter Richards, and Dan Shipsides

Consortium presents a surprising sample of young artists from Belfast. Central data in this exhibition are the (re-)construction of history and the narrative. Susan MacWilliam researches spiritually and the work of mediums. She knows how to visualize the occult in a clear, oppressive manner in spatial installations with video. Peter Richards brings tighter public performances directed by him and documenting them. This results in massive pinhole color photography. Dan Shipsides’ large installations refer to landscapes, spatial structures and mountaineering. Shipsides processes these influences into new constellations and performances. Moira Melver responds to the tradition of ‘cross-dressing’ and explores the boundaries and dualities: the individual and the social, the masculine and the feminine, the past and the present. Mary Mcintyre’s photos provide powerful analysis of the places where we spend time, but those devoid of human presence become almost unrecognizable.

This exhibition was realized by Amsterdam Fund for the Art Consortium in collaboration with The Golden Thread Gallery
