Radio Relay: Home Again

Home Again
A project by Colm Clarke for Radio Relay
Homing pigeons are the original messengers and relayers and Colm Clarke has used pigeons as a point of inspiration for HOME AGAIN – a project in two parts. He is interested in the loft constructions that house the birds, the pigeon clubs as social spaces and the enormous distance these birds navigate in their flight back to captivity. LOFTS is a film about homing pigeons and pigeon fanciers shown with an installation of pigeon hampers that will receive and broadcast a live feed from two lofts in the city below. The second element of the project – ELSEWHERE – uses audio interviews with refugees and asylum seekers to articulate some of their experiences of displacement and new beginnings in their own words.
