A New Art Museum Opens in Belfast

 

The John Erickson Museum of Art (JEMA) http://www.jema.us/ is proud to announce itself as Belfast’s newest art museum. JEMA, a location variable museum, is additionally pleased to open in Belfast with two new traveling exhibitions by esteemed artists Gregory Green and Yoko Ono. These exhibitions will be on view for the month of April in the JEMA galleries, at Golden Thread Gallery, and at additional selected venues throughout the city of Belfast.

Exhibitions on view include: Gregory Green’s “Caroline A NEW FUTURE A Project of: The New Free State of Caroline” and Yoko Ono’s “Imagine Peace”. The Public is invited to attend and participate in these interactive exhibitions.

The John Erickson Museum of Art has exhibited through ACC Galerie (Weimar, Germany), Art Basel Miami Beach, Aqua Art (Miami Beach), Irish National Museum (Dublin, Ireland), Limerick City Gallery of Art (Limerick, Ireland), Howard House (Seattle, WA.), Deitch Projects Art Parade (NY., NY.), Schalter Gallery (Berlin, Germany). Upcoming traveling exhibitions for 2008 are planned at the Indianapolis Museum and The Contemporary Museum (Baltimore, MD.).

Sean Miller, JEMA’s Director, is available for interviews at Golden Thread Gallery where he will have a temporary office through April 26th. Visit JEMA or let JEMA visit you. Miller is in Belfast for the month of April participating in a residency at Flaxart Studios.
