A LITTLE OF WHAT YOU FANCY
Pop Up Exhibition at Castle Court Shopping Centre, Unit 39
When you get a group of older people together, add some art, musical memories, a few costumes and props, then mix it up by getting them to pose, recreating their favourite album covers, while singing along to some old standards from the 50’, 60’ and 70’s that’s when the magic starts in ‘A Little Of What You Fancy’. The latest Arts Council Of Northern Ireland Arts and Older People Project, managed by the Golden Thread Gallery in partnership with the Oh Yeah Music Centre and the Over The Hill Music Collective is a multi-disciplinary arts project for older people that embodies the breadth and diversity of the arts in Northern Ireland, drawing on the rich music history of the Province and pairing it with artistic skills and discussions about musical memories, fashion, dancehalls and the social history of the time.
The project will culminate in a concert and exhibition on the 17th May from 12 Noon at the Oh Yeah Music Centre, followed by a preview of the exhibition at the Golden Thread Gallery.
There will also be an accompanying exhibition at the Golden Threads off-gallery site at Castle Court Shopping Centre, running until the end of June 2018.
