The annual Aisling Awards celebrate the spirit of this city, ‘the very best of Belfast’. This year, reflecting the enormous challenges people have faced together over the past two years under the pandemic, the theme of the awards is #Rebuilding. The Awards at the Europa Hotel on 4 December hope to mark a milestone in the recovery of Belfast by celebrating courage and resilience across multiple fields of endeavour.
The whole team at Golden Thread Gallery are delighted that we have been shortlisted in the Arts & Culture Rebuilder category, sponsored by Movie House Cinemas. The award seeks to recognise those who have sustained the Arts sector, which was one of the hardest hit by the pandemic.
GTG has been nominated because of our work supporting artists and audiences with our online programmes through lockdown, and for our hard work in bringing audiences back to the gallery since we re-opened. We’ve done everything we can to keep the GTG as welcoming and accessible as possible, even with restrictions and safety measures in place, so that we can keep our audiences connected with the best of contemporary art.
