SUPER COOL, SUMMER SCHOOL, COMPETITION!

If you love art and ideas you are already in with a chance to win an a place on a super cool summer school for young people ages between 9 & 13 years of age. This summer school explores The Secret Life of Objects, and there are two FREE places up for grabs!

The Secret Life of Objects, will open up new ways to explore art through fun workshops in sculpture, video, sound, animation and installation. Workshops will be facilitated by multi-media artist, Sara Greavu and some of her artist friends. During the week long project each young person will have a chance to try their hand at many different art forms, and work towards their very own exhibition launch in the Golden Thread Gallery's Project Space.

Summer Schoolers will work on a group project as well creating their own contemporary art work. Locky Morris, (who has a major retrospective exhibition in the gallery at the same time) and Peter Richards, Director of Golden Thread Gallery will also be on hand to meet, advise and inspire the young artists. So, why not make this a summer to remember, make new friends and have a super fun time doing it!

Deadline for entries: FRIDAY the 6th of August 2010
Prize wining entries will be announced on the 13th of August 2010.

All staff and tutors are fully police checked.
The gallery is wheelchair accessible.
An audio t-loop system is also available.
