A widespread tendency established within contemporary
curatorial practice relates to the transgressive and interdisciplinary possibilities of food and hospitality.

Employing open frameworks of interaction, these practices often promote art as an instrument for social production and engagement, investing in ideas of cooking and consumption as performative acts of exchange.

Combining these ideas of openness with recent thinking around entrepreneurial start-ups and models of creative labour, ‘L O N G T A B L E small plates’ seeks to examine the potential for alternative means of curatorial representation within the context of ‘small-plate dining’.

L O N G T A B L E small plates is supported by Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
