Photographer Jordan Hutchings’ new exhibition Body of Work maps a history of performance artists and their practice as subject, thoughtful of the human form, landscape and material.
‘I won’t be the one to tell you what performance is. I can only tell you what I do. I take pictures of people doing things’
Over the past 6 years Hutching’s has documented Bbeyond, a collective of performance artists based in Belfast. This exhibition reflects a selection from an extensive photographic archive of their monthly meetings. His ongoing presence at performance meetings, has cultivated powerful links between subject and photographer, enabling Hutchings to record fleeting moments of live art, capturing striking images of a community.
