Join us for Alistair Wilson’s lunchtime Artist Talk on Friday 4th at 1.00pm. The talk promises to offer insight into Wilson’s solo exhibition Sign and Ciphers.

The talk will start at 1.10 pm and last for approximately 30 minutes, followed by a short question and answer session.  Admission is free and complimentary tea / coffee will be available.

Revealing links across various periods of production, Signs and Ciphers, an exhibition of works by Belfast-based artist Alistair Wilson, is broken into four parts and realised across two venues.
Encompassing selected works spanning forty years of production, the exhibition does not set out to provide a definitive survey of Wilson’s work to date, rather this extended exhibition draws together key works in an attempt to bring to the fore the prevailing themes and common characteristics present in Wilson’s practice. This rare opportunity to experience such a substantial body of Wilson’s work creates an opportunity to delve into the formal and conceptual concerns.

The first instalment launches at the Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast on the 3rd August 2017 and focuses on Wilson’s more recent practice. The second instalment, at the Millennium Court Art Centre, Portadown, in October/November 2017, features examples of work dating back to the early 1970’s.
